I won't name names over where I've seen such views, but they are out there. Not so much on messageboards as other places where people express their views, often rather strongly. I have, believe me, seen things along these lines and more. I'm not saying there's much of it about, of course - just that I have encountered it. But I'd rather not discuss it in detail. Since I am something of a radical when it comes to disability and disability rights, I'm always surprised to encounter views that are even more radical than mine... I'm more used to seeing more conservative approaches. But then, those have the capacity to irritate me too. Oh, why can't everyone just think like I do? The world would be a better place then. :-DNaomi J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10918322634249814999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23011984.post-90610727115603803882008-02-25T15:04:00.000+00:002008-02-25T15:04:00.000+00:00I think i know at least one of the internet commun...I think i know at least one of the internet communities you're frustrated with, but i'd like to know where you found people calling all non-disabled people "all evil oppressors from whom we should separate ourselves at all costs because we're vastly superior and/or need protection"... cos, well, i've always thought that "argument" was a straw man, something that "militant crips" are accused of believing, but actually don't. The nearest i've seen to anyone actually arguing it is some of the "Aspie supremacists/separatists" at places like Wrong Planet, but they don't usually see themselves as "disabled"...

I'll talk about my similar experiences of several "radical" forums, when i'm not a) incredibly hungry and b) late for a meeting...stevethehydrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18334234855643025449noreply@blogger.com
